As a mention to the functionality has surfaced online, WhatsApp chat history may soon be transferred from an Android phone to an iPhone. The much-anticipated chat migration tool was released by the Facebook-owned business last month, although it is initially confined to iOS users. WhatsApp, on the other hand, has been discovered to be working on expanding the migration function to allow Android users to migrate their chats and material available on the instant messaging app directly from an iOS device. The conversation migration function was made available exclusively to those who purchased the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 that the South Korean manufacturer announced last month.

WhatsApp to allow chat history transfers between iOS and Android - The Verge

According to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the transfer of chat history from Android devices to iPhone has been proposed via WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.21.19.1. The most recent beta has a concealed reference to the feature ahead of its release.

WABetaInfo also provided an image of WhatsApp allowing Android users to transfer their chat history and media to a new iPhone. Users must first download and install Apple’s Move to iOS software on their Android handset. A cable to physically link their Android and iOS devices is also likely to be necessary. This might work similarly to how people need to physically connect an iPhone to an Android phone to transfer their chat history from the former to latter.
