Amazon India has stealthily launched a new feature on its site. This new function is intended to encourage consumers to spend more time on the company’s e-commerce site. The firm has added a ‘Featured Articles’ section to its web platform as well as its Android and iOS applications.

This feature is hidden in the Kindle Store section of the platform and provides users with access to featured articles, commentary, and opinions on a wide range of topics such as trending articles, Entertainment, Politics and Governance, Sports, Business and Finance, Health and Fitness, Society and Lifestyle, Books, Food, Fiction, Current Affairs, Travel, and Auto.

According to TechCrunch, some of these publications are only available on Amazon India’s website, and the business is also sending warnings to selected Kindle customers about the same. This feature was added just after Amazon launched a free video streaming service within the shopping app in the South Asian nation.

An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the new feature to TechCrunch, saying, “we remain focused on creating new and engaging experiences for our customers, and as part of this endeavour, we have been testing a new service that brings articles on various topics such as current affairs, books, business, entertainment, sports, and lifestyle, amongst others, for readers.”

Moreover, this isn’t the first time Amazon has considered including some reading content into its Indian shopping service.
