The new battery pack from Zens includes a wireless charger on both sides, allowing you to charge two Qi-compatible devices at the same time in what can only be described as a “charging sandwich.” The Dual Powerbank was launched with three additional battery packs: the Magnetic Single Powerbank, the Single Power bank with Stand (which can wirelessly charge itself as well as other devices), and the 10,000 mAh Powerbank with Stand.
Although it may theoretically charge two Qi-compatible phones, the intended use case appears to be charging an iPhone and an accessory such as a pair of AirPods. Because one side of the battery pack has a MagSafe connector, it should stay centred on iPhone 12 devices with integrated magnets. However, when charging an iPhone, the attachment is restricted to 7.5W rather than the MagSafe’s maximum of 15W.
Aside from that, the Dual Powerbank has a USB-C connection for charging its 4,000 mAh battery and a tiny kickstand on one side to keep your phone propped up while it charges.
While companies like Zens and Anker have jumped on Apple’s new wireless charging technology, the Cupertino firm has yet to produce its own MagSafe battery pack. Bloomberg reported in February that the business is working on such an attachment, but that it is having development problems due to the iPhone’s software believing it is overheating.
