For users in Delhi, Google Maps has included a new real-time bus service information function. It will inform users of the precise time the next bus will arrive at the bus stop, allowing them to better plan their trip. Google has collaborated with the Delhi Transport Ministry, the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi, and Lepton Software to include this important real-time public bus service function in Google Maps for Delhi customers.

According to the tech giant, this function will not only provide information about which bus to take to travel from one location to another, but also when the next bus will arrive at the stop where the user is waiting. This function is primarily intended to alleviate the inconvenience of waiting for public transportation passengers. It allows you to properly organise your departure and may be a huge help in reducing the stress of commuting. Open Google Maps on an Android or iOS device to see real-time bus service information. Enter your destination and press the ‘Go’ button. Enter your starting and ending points, then press the ‘transit’ (the tiny tram) symbol to see timings, bus numbers, routes, and real-time arrival information indicated in green or red.

When you tap a recommended route, you may discover more information about the route’s stops. Tap the bus stop to get a list of all arriving buses, with real-time information shown by the green or red light. Google Maps also provides real-time bus information by searching for a specific bus stop, pressing its name, and then hitting the displayed bus numbers. Users will be able to view a list of all arriving buses, with location-enabled buses indicating their current ETA.

According to Google, the real-time bus information service is also accessible in Hindi. It is possible to alter it in Google Maps settings or in the device language settings. In terms of plans to extend to other locations, Google says it is collaborating with public transportation systems in other cities to allow real-time transit information, which it will disclose when it becomes available.
